Until what point the hundreds kinds of moves and techniques are really necessary if you are seeking a efficient way to win a fight? Complex (read: many different techniques and ways to perform them) martial arts like Kung Fu, Aikido or Hapkido are very difficult to "master" (actually, master a martial art is a complicated expression, because there will always be something to ameliorate) and it'd take a long time training to fight them reasonably. Also, the learning demand much more ability from the students. On the other hand, the Boxe length of techniques can be taught in a week and improved to a nice level in a few months of training.
